One July evening in Ecuador in 2013, in the stillness of my room, a calm, clear voice suddenly spoke and declared that I would write a book titled “Return from the Irrevocable Past.” Although I tried to object, knowing I could only write poetry, the voice explained that the stories would come naturally during work hours. So I didn’t write anything my imagination would have chosen to put on the page.
When I finished the first book, a voice told me to write a sequel, saying the story would take place during the Inca Empire. It was hard to believe, but I trusted the voice and soon found myself in that era. By the time I started writing these books, I already knew I was a member of the Inca family in those distant times.
This is a sequel to the first book, but it can also be read on its own. This book isn’t about defeating anyone. It explores how mental pain yields insight, how forgiveness unties the knots of ancestral memory, and how loyalty to conscience and love offers stronger protection than any weapon.
… Could the giant wave that once appeared to Lera in a dream have become real, sweeping her into a world far from familiar civilization?
Arriving in the Amazon rainforest, she begins her gripping story the moment she hears the words: “Those who failed to correct their mistakes in life will be sent back to Earth by God to finish what they left undone.”
As an Indigenous girl named Tintaya, Lera witnesses the decline of the Inca Empire—an era marked by reverence for mountain, forest, and river spirits, shamanic rituals, and ceremonies involving human sacrifice.
Will she retain her strong spirit after losing everyone she cares about deeply?
How can a heart broken by loss heal while remaining open despite fear?
How can a soul wounded by pain and suffering find healing?
Will the Indigenous girl resist the pull of her weaknesses and the dark thoughts that grip her, refusing to let go and gnawing at her from within like insects hollowing a tree trunk?
Will she find the courage to let go of resentment and choose trust over suspicion?
Will she find happiness in a world where emperors and priests demand the finest as offerings to the gods?
Will the gods everyone reveres help a person find their own strength, or just push them toward the abyss’s edge?
Should she keep calling out to God, who remains silent, or trust the Devil, who appears the moment he senses her anger and her desire for revenge?
What terrible choice does fate have in store for Lera, and what must she do to repair the irrevocable past and return to her family?
